Mitochondrial respiration in microglia is essential for response to demyelinating injury but not proliferation

This study investigates how mitochondrial respiration influences microglial function during demyelinating injury. The results show that while respiration is crucial for microglia to respond effectively to injury, it is not required for their proliferation. These findings highlight a metabolic distinction between activation and growth in microglial cells.
Vimentin modulates regulatory T cell receptor-ligand interactions at distal pole complex, leading to dysregulated host response to viral pneumonia

This study examines how vimentin affects regulatory T cell function during viral pneumonia. The findings show that vimentin alters receptor-ligand interactions at the distal pole complex, disrupting normal immune regulation. This modulation contributes to an abnormal host response and worsened disease outcomes.
